Lev Slepner (composer\ group's leader\marimba)

Was born in Moscow in 1976.

He entered the class of violin when he was 4,5 years old. When he became 6 he tried to enter into the Gnesins' special musical school, the class of percussion instruments, but he didn't enter, because he could not obtain to the keyboard of xylophone.

Only in year, after passing examinations, he entered into the class. In 1991 he finished the School. In the same year he entered into the State School of the wind instruments (GUDI). He's finished the school with the red diploma.In 1994 he entered into the Russian Gnesins' Academy of Music, selected specialization of marimba upon the entering. He's graduated from the Academy in 2000 with the red diploma, too. In 2001 he entered into the graduate study. In 1996-98 he worked in State Orchestra of Russian National Music Instruments. In 1998-2000 he worked in the Moscow TV-6 Symphony Orchestra. In 1999 he created the group "Marimba plus", he became its leader and author of original compositions. Also he's been working with Arkady Shilkloper in the project of "Wood quartet" since 2002.

In January, 2003 Lev Slepner became the laureate of the "Triumf" National premium as a composer and the best jazz musician of 2002.

Ilya Dvoretsky (fleute)

Was born on August 2, 1976, in Moscow.At the age of 7 years old he entered into the musical school, class of flute (teacher Kondrashov N.I.) In 1991 he entered into the state school of wind instruments. In the same year he became the laureate on the international competition of young performers on wooden wind tools. In 1994 he entered into the Russian Gnesin's Academy of Music to professor Hoffman's class of flute. In 1998 he became the laureate of the international competition of chamber ensembles. Since 2000 he's the student of the graduate study.

He's playing in "Marimba plus" group since 1999. He also played in different symphonic orchestras, but his selection fall on the ansamble music with the elements of improvisation. Now "Marimba plus" is his basic work and the large part of the life.

Sergey Nankin (clarinet)

Was born on June 10, 1975, in Moscow. He began learning music (clarinet) when 10 years old. In 1990-1994 he was trained in the musical school of the Moscow state Conservatory. In 1994 -1999 he was the student of the Moscow state Conservatory (Vladimir Sokolov's class). During conservatory studying he was occupied in Danil Cramer's class of jazz improvisation. Since 1999 he performed in different duets playing classical, jazz and original music. He was a participant of the project "Classic and jazz",organized by Danil Cramer (on photo). In 1999 he became a participant of "Khalom" ensemble by Miron Cherny (Jewish music). Took part in the tours of "Khalom"'in Finland and Sweden. He's been the soloist of the President's orchestra of Russian Federation since 2000. In autumn 2000 took part in the International competition of the clarinetists "Dos Hermanas"in Spain. 2001-2002 - was a participant in the jazz quartet "the Rooms" In July, 2002 took part in the international festival of klezmer music (St.-Petersburg). Since November 2002 he became a participant of "Marimba plus".
